Captain Brian Wargo
was born in 1969.
That same year
his father, William Wargo, started the Ft. Walton Beach/Destin Sailfish
Club.
His family loved
to go fishing and would bring Brian, in his crib, onboard whenever they
went.
Brian grew up fishing
on his fathers boat and off the various docks and piers, and found
his favorite fishing was on the water and had his first boat at the
age of ten.
Brian knew this
was what he wanted to do forever and got his U.S. Coast Guard Captains
License.
Brian has fished
all over Florida using live bait, dead bait, lures and flys. Hes
fished many seasons in the Bahamas as well and after Captaining charter
boats out of Destin, FL he moved to Kona, Hawaii to tackle the exceptional
Pacific Blue Marlin. By
combining East Coast techniques with the Hawaiian methods of fishing,
he was able to blend the two styles into an extremely effective system
for catching fish.
Brian knew that
it took more that just catching fish to be a well respected Captain
and he devoted himself to ensure that everyone who came aboard his vessel
had a good time regardless of the fishing that day.

By catering to
families, first time anglers as well as seasoned veterans and giving
outstanding personal service with those who fish with him, earned Brian
and the Bite Me the West Hawaii Readers Choice Award for
Best Charter Boat in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
Some of Brians
favorite charters are the Marlin Tournaments and as you can see on the
tournament page his passion has turned into many wins. With the money
from these wins he was able to fulfill his dream of owning his own luxury
fishing machine in the hottest fishing grounds in the world. The word
is out and if you want to get in on the fun, aggressive and exciting
fishing of the many Marlin Tournaments in Kona just give Brian a call
for details and availability.
One of Brians
biggest accomplishments is being one out of 500 boats to consistently
qualify for the Maui Jim Marlin Tournament Series Championship each
year and winning back to back Championships in 2000 and 2001.
In January 2004,
Brian Wargo and Mark and Marsha Schoeneman partnered up to purchase
the Bite Me.
So whether you
want to fish hard and aggressive or have a relaxing day fishing in Kona,
Brian would love to take you out to catch the fish of a lifetime.
Aloha,
Captain Brian Wargo
